Retake Picture Day is 09/25/2023! If you're satisfied with your child's picture, no further action is required.
If you purchased and were unhappy with your Picture Package, please send your Picture Package to school with your student on Retake Day. Your Retake Picture Package will be produced and shipped to the school four weeks after Retake Day. Please note, if your child is photographed on the original and Retake Picture Days, the Retake picture will replace the original picture in certain products, like the yearbook.
Students who were absent for Picture Day should come to school prepared to have their picture taken. If you have not preordered, please use the Retake Order Code 78011FF to place your order at https://inter-state.com/Order. To see your Order History, check your Inter-State Account.
Want to take what your student is learning in the classroom and expand upon it at home? Discover how at our parent night on September 27 from 6-6:45 PM. We'll be discussing reading and writing activities to reinforce your child's confidence and love of reading, ways to incorporate math into everyday activities, and techniques to help your child investigate the world around them. It'll be a night packed full of information so come ready to learn! Childcare will also be provided to school-age children.
As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, for all day parent-teacher conferences. Please message or email your student's teacher of you have any questions.

Fall Picture Reminder: August 21st
NMES is looking for volunteers on Friday mornings from 8-8:45 to read to our Kindergarten through Second Grade students. Volunteers must have a background check on file. Don't hesitate to contact Robert Briscoe, briscoer@shcsc.k12.in.us, if you are interested in being a guest reader.
Please check your child's lunch account balances and make payments if needed. Payments may be made with cash or check (made out to SHCSC). If payments are sent with the child, please enclose money in a sealed envelope with the child's name and amount enclosed. Payments may also be made online through EZpay; however, it does charge a small fee to do so. Thank you!
Please make sure that Mobile Dentist Forms are turned in by tomorrow.
Early Dismissal Reminder
On Fridays, our Boys and Girls Bus loads at 1:30, Car Rider Pick-up is at 1:35, and Bus Riders load at 1:40.
DON'T FORGET! Tomorrow, Friday, August 4 is an early release day. Please make the necessary transportation arrangements & notify your school office early!
NMES has equipped all our students with backpack tags to identify dismissal transportation. Students with red tags are car riders and will have the associated car tags labeled on them. Blue tags will indicate a student who rides the bus and include the student's bus number. Please make sure these tags remain on student backpacks.
Monday through Thursday, our Boys and Girls Club Bus loads at 2:20, Car Rider Pick-up is at 2:25, and Bus Riders load at 2:30. On Fridays, our Boys and Girls Bus loads at 1:30, Car Rider Pick-up is at 1:35, and Bus Riders load at 1:40. Any changes to a student's dismissal transportation should be reported to the front office by 1 pm daily. Car Rider tags are here. NMES staff plan to be out early in the car rider line during the first week of school to get car tags distributed to families. Families can also stop by the office on July 31st during school hours to pick up a car rider tag.
When parking in the car rider lines, please pull up as far as possible and fill both lines equally. Deputy Hayse and other school staff will bring students to load into cars. If the car rider lines start to back up into the road, please use the parking spots for overflow. Regardless of where you park, no cars should exit the parking lot until directed to do so by Deputy Hayse.
